Caught between dark and light

How can the world be so dark and horrific yet so damn awesome and beautiful? Thoughts swirl around in my head with nothing to land on. The world is truly a playground. Its funny, though, how the things that are supposed to make us happier are the most destructive: smart phones, the internet, facebook, cars, appliances, frozen dinners. These things slowly eat away at our souls.
